  • The most convenient way to reach Salina Turda is by car. From Cluj-Napoca, it’s about a 40-minute drive via the DN1/E60 road. There’s ample parking available at the site. The parking fee is 5 lei/hour (about 1€)
  • If you prefer public transport, regular buses run between Cluj-Napoca and Turda. The journey takes about an hour, and from the Turda bus station, it’s a short taxi ride to the salt mine.
  • By Tour- Many guided tours are available from Cluj-Napoca, which include transportation and a guided visit to Salina Turda. This is a great option if you want to learn more about the site from an expert guide.

  • Make sure you wear warm clothes and comfortable walking shoes. The underground terrain can be uneven, so sturdy, comfortable shoes will help you navigate the tunnels and attractions with ease. 
  • Salina Turda is equipped with elevators and ramps to accommodate visitors with disabilities, making it accessible for everyone. Visitors with disabilities will need to enter from Entrance B.
  • Entrance A has ample parking and conveniently located next to Durgau Salty Lakes. This entrance not only provides easy access to the mine but also allows you to explore the beautiful salty lakes nearby- perfect for a relaxing stroll before or after your visit. 
  • Be prepared to queue for the lifts, especially during peak times, both for going up and down and also for reaching the lake level. If you’re up for it, consider taking the stairs down to the Amusement Park- it’s 12 flights, but the experience is worth it. You can rest on the landings, which offer spectacular views of the mine’s impressive interior. It’s a great way to take in the scenery at your own pace and capture some amazing photos long the way.
